Out of Character
Excessive or disruptive Out-of-Character (OOC) communication while in-city is not permitted. OOC should not interfere with active roleplay scenes, ongoing situations, or the immersion of others.
Brief, casual comments that do not impact roleplay such as general small talk will not normally be an issue. However, repeated, prolonged, or scene-breaking OOC communication may result in a warning or further disciplinary action depending on severity.
Continued or intentional OOC behaviour that negatively affects roleplay will result in escalating disciplinary action, including bans.
Meta Gaming
Players may not use any information obtained outside of character for in-city roleplay purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, information gained through third-party platforms or services such as Discord, Twitch, Kick, TikTok, or similar sources.
Using out-of-character knowledge to influence, create, or alter in-city interactions, scenes, decisions, or events is strictly prohibited and constitutes metagaming.
Apex Roleplay actively monitors metagaming. A dedicated metagaming watch team and staff may observe public streams, recorded content, and in-game behaviour, as well as review system logs where applicable, to identify and investigate suspected metagaming. This monitoring may occur without prior notice.
F8 Quitting (Combat Logging)
Using F8, disconnecting, or otherwise leaving the server during an active roleplay scene is prohibited and may result in bans.
Real-life emergencies do not exempt players from accountability. While genuine emergencies are understood, they do not set precedent and may be reviewed. Repeated or questionable use of emergency claims may result in disciplinary action.
CFX Crashes, Headpops
Exploiting a crash or disconnection to avoid or alter roleplay outcomes is not tolerated.
Players must submit proof of the crash in #game-crashes and immediately return to the active scene upon reconnecting. Players must return directly to the scene without stopping to store items, change vehicles, reposition, or otherwise alter the scene, unless explicitly instructed otherwise by staff.
Rejoining the server and starting elsewhere, or failing to return to the scene, will be treated as scene avoidance and may result in punishment.
Rejoining the server after a crash and failing to immediately and properly resume the active scene—including altering inventory, positioning, or circumstances—will be treated as combat logging and may result in bans.
Powergaming
Players may not abuse, exploit, or take advantage of game mechanics, bugs, glitches, or unintended features to gain an unfair advantage in roleplay. Any such behaviour is prohibited, whether intentional or not.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Using the escort, carry, or similar features to place individuals in locations where EMS cannot reasonably reach them, including inside walls, objects, or voids.
Using escort, carry, or piggyback mechanics to move more than one person at a time, including any form of chaining.
Storing a vehicle in a garage, pulling out another vehicle, or otherwise swapping vehicles during an active vehicle pursuit.
Entering a house, interior, or private property during an active interaction or scene to avoid roleplay.
Changing radio names to relay information, locations, or scene details to other players.
During shootouts, players may only use “DOWN” in their radio name and nothing further.
Flat-backing or transporting another player for the purpose of gaining any advantage, including faster EMS response or scene avoidance.
Transferring money, vehicles, properties, MLOs, or assets between characters owned by the same player.
Escorting, carrying, piggybacking, or otherwise attaching to any vehicle, including motorcycles, in an unintended manner.
Putting your apartment storage box into storage in order to hide its contents or disable accessibility to others.
Any attempt to exploit mechanics to bypass roleplay outcomes, consequences, or limitations will result in disciplinary action.
Common Exploits
Abusive or unrealistic combat behaviour is not permitted during serious roleplay scenes. This includes, but is not limited to, spam tackling, spam punching, intentional ragdolling to avoid injury or consequences, lag switching, or similar actions used to gain an unfair advantage.
Casual or light-hearted behaviour between friends outside of serious or official scenes may occur; however, during official gang conflicts, organised events, or any scene where outcomes have meaningful roleplay consequences, such behaviour is strictly prohibited.
Any actions that undermine realism, fairness, or the integrity of a serious roleplay scene may result in disciplinary action.
Loopholing
Loopholing, rule manipulation, or exploiting wording, technicalities, or omissions within this rulebook is strictly prohibited.
Players may not attempt to justify actions by claiming a rule does not explicitly forbid the behaviour. Any conduct that:
Undermines fair and immersive roleplay
Circumvents the intent of a rule
Exploits unclear wording, missing detail, or technical gaps
Abuses mechanics, systems, scripts, or server limitations
Gains an unfair advantage through interpretation rather than good-faith roleplay
will be treated as a rule violation.
The spirit and intent of the rules always take precedence over literal wording. If a situation is not clearly defined, players are expected to act in good faith and in the best interest of realistic, high-quality roleplay.
Staff retain full discretion to interpret rules based on intent, server balance, and community standards. Claiming “it’s not written” or “it doesn’t say I can’t” will not be accepted as a defence.
Deliberate loophole abuse may result in escalated punishment, up to and including permanent removal from the community.
Low Quality RP
(1) firearm does not automatically create fear unless it is being actively aimed within a properly escalated and legitimate roleplay context.
Two (2) or more individuals threatening or engaging with melee weapons against one person constitutes a life-threatening situation and must be feared.
Legitimate law enforcement hard stops conducted for valid in-character reasons (e.g. felony stops, armed suspect stops) constitute a life-threatening situation and must be feared when officers have weapons drawn and commands are being issued.
Drawing a weapon purely to force compliance without escalation or context may be treated as power-gaming or FailRP.
Shooting guns/tasers and/or throwing weaponry from inside of all cars/boats/aircraft or whilst seated on bikes is considered LQRP..
Law enforcement, gangs, and civilians are all subject to the same escalation standards and may not default to firearms to force fear.
You may not ignore credible threats, draw weapons under lethal threat, or act in a way that disregards the value of your character’s life.
Players may not call out rules, staff decisions, or alleged rule breaches during an active roleplay scene.
Telling others what rules they are breaking, coaching behaviour mid-scene, or attempting to moderate roleplay in-character or out-of-character (“rule-splaining”) is not permitted.
If you believe a rule is being broken, you must remain in character, record the situation where appropriate, and submit a support ticket with evidence for staff review.
Disrupting scenes to argue rules or enforcement will be treated as Low Quality Roleplay.
Rule enforcement is handled by staff, not by players during scenes.
Players must realistically roleplay all injuries sustained, including gunshots, stabbings, vehicle collisions, and other significant trauma. Ignoring, downplaying, or instantly recovering from major injuries, or continuing to fight, sprint, or act at full capacity without appropriate medical roleplay, will be treated as Low Quality Roleplay. Game mechanics or armour values do not override the expectation of realistic injury portrayal, and staff retain full discretion in determining when the proper injury roleplay was demonstrated.
Permanent Death (CK)
No player may force a permanent death (perma) upon another character under any circumstances.
Permanent character death is always a voluntary decision made by the character’s owner.
If you choose to permanently kill your character, that character must be fully deleted from the character selection menu and may not be used again.
Any character found to be in use after being permanently killed will be removed by the team.
All permanent deaths must be approved by staff prior to being carried out, regardless of circumstance.
Any attempt to bypass, ignore, or exploit this rule may result in disciplinary action.
OOC and IC TOXICITY
All in-character events, interactions, and outcomes must remain in-character and in-city only.
All out-of-character matters must remain out-of-character and out-of-city.
Staff will not intervene in any out-of-character relationships, personal disputes, or disagreements. This community is 18+.
Any real-life harassment, threats, or criminal behaviour must be reported to the appropriate real-world authorities.
This policy does not prevent staff from taking action on behaviour that violates community rules, platform terms of service, or applicable laws.
Safeguarding & Serious Harm
Apex Roleplay takes safeguarding and the safety of its community seriously. Any reports involving credible risk of serious harm to members of the community will be reviewed appropriately.
All safeguarding reports must be supported by clear and relevant evidence. Allegations based solely on hearsay, rumours, or unverified claims will not be acted upon.
Staff will not rely on gossip or third-party statements alone when assessing safeguarding concerns. Reports submitted without sufficient evidence may be closed without action.
This does not prevent individuals from seeking assistance from appropriate real-world authorities where required.
